Ratings and Reviews

Absolutely Awesome!

As a long time Ballistic AE user I thought dealing with bugs and a clunky GUI were just par for the course with a solid calculator on my mobile device. I’m here to tell you I was so wrong. Strelok is simply awesome, super intuitive to operate, and very well developed. The work and dedication that goes into this app is second to none. Just take a look at the consistency of the development updates and responses. A few things that stand out to me are quick access to G7 data, easy export of reticles, and the ability to save firearms with the scope linked. Overall this is a huge improvement for me over Ballistic AE.

To list a few little things I have noticed.
Sometime when I select a different target it does not always come up In my reticle view. I would love the ability to default the whole app to MRAD but that’s a personal use case. Lastly I do prefer how the Ballistic AE outputs long skinny drop charts that are easy to print and laminate for range use and hunting use. These are such small issues. I give this app a easy % hands down!

Thank you for the kind words!
I will check my code about targets
On the main screen you can make long tap to dim out unnecessary results digits
You can export trajectory table to xls-file, open it with any spreadsheet editor and print

Best Ballistic App in the Industry

While there are a lot of great apps out there, with StrelokPro you have the ability to fine tune every variable to really true up your trajectory and know exactly what your projectile is doing. With many apps the process to get through the menu’s to update temperature on the fly is time consuming and one thing I love about Strelok is the ability to quickly Bluetooth atmospheric’s in via Kestrel Drop D3 and plot a new solution before the wind changes. There is a bit of a learning curve to understanding all the concepts that go along with long range shooting and Strelok is the easiest and most intuitive app on the market. The developer is very dedicated to offering support and the Strelok community in the Facebook forum is a great resource to learning the ins-and-outs and troubleshooting when you get stumped. If you want to get into long range shooting I cannot recommend StrelokPro enough. Best ballistic mobile app in the industry.

Thanks for the kind words, they motivate me to move on

Own every iPhone ballistics app

This app is amazing in my opinion, because you can email Igor, get an answer back quickly, and see changes within a week; I also use other iPhone mobile calculators with our Kestrel AB Elite like ABMobile, Shooter, BallisticsAE, Trasol, Bullet Flight, and several other mobile apps including the Kestrel Link app that comes with the Kestrel, however I find Strelok Pro to be more repeatable with the Kestrel’s wind call Bluetooth integration. We are able to consistently get on target with various distances from to yards with a , , and Again my best reasons is app support (being able to email Igor) and see a long list of additions/fixes/enhancements and new features added every year versus the competitors apps that get a few updates a year if lucky or if they have to, because it stops working when Apple changes something. Igor’s app is priceless.

Strelok Pro Ballistic Programme

When it comes to mediumto- long range shooting, we need all the help we can get when we need to make ballistic calculations, me especially! So, if there is technology out there that can make life easier, then it definitely has my vote! Available as an ‘app’ for both iPhone and Android, Strelok Pro is really worth a look! It is a ballistic calculator that works everything out for you and in a nutshell, shows you where to aim. Now, firstly download the app from the Google Play store. There are several versions available, including the free basic one, but if you want Pro with all of the bells and whistles, then it is £ and worth every penny!

Strelok Pro is well laid out and simple to use. Once you have downloaded it, enter in the details of your rifle, such as make, model and calibre. Then choose what ammo you are using from the comprehensive ammunition database that is built in. It has virtually everything from rimfire to cal and is constantly being added too. Then, select what scope and reticle you are using, again, there is a comprehensive database with all of the manufacturers on there, plus all of the different types of reticles. You can also enter the twist rate of you barrel too!

Once you have entered in your set-up, oh, and by the way, you can store as many rifle setups as you want, so that you can easily switch from gun to gun. It’s then just a case of entering the distance of your target and environmental conditions like wind direction and the angle that you are positioned. How do you enter wind direction and the angle of the slope that you are shooting from I hear you ask? Well, Strelok Pro has some pretty cool features that allow you to enter in this data with ease.

Data entry

Hit the wind direction button and a compass-like screen pops up and you just have to move the pointer in the direction of the wind and press the ‘OK’ button. You can then enter the wind speed if you can ‘guesstimate’ it! If you want all of this doing for you as far as conditions go (and you have internet coverage where you are shooting) you can press the ’Weatherflow’ button which will give you this info on your location. I must admit, though, I do like to enter these bits in manually.

Same sort of thing if you are shooting at an angle! Hit the ‘Slope angle, degrees’ button and you get a screen that allows you to measure the angle by line of sight. Dead easy, just hold your phone on its side, making sure it is level towards the target and move the angle measure line, so that it points at the target. Press ok, then hit ‘Calculate’ and all the info will come up on screen, as far as scope adjustment is concerned.

The calculator will give you vertical and horizontal adjustments in MOA, MRAD, Inches and clicks. If you just want to see where to aim so to speak, you can just click the ‘Reticle’ button and this will bring up your chosen crosshair with a target behind it in relation to where you should aim. So simple, even I can use this software but there are lots of other features too. Such as if you are shooting moving targets, or multiple ones at different distances. What is really quite fascinating is the data that the app tells you, things like bullet travel time and ft/lbs of energy at the target or muzzle etc. Well worth a look and try next time you are out shooting.

An APP that does it all for you, well almost, the rest is of course down to you, the shooter!
