The furry project

The furry project DEFAULT

A while ago, I was scanning the remnant section at my local Hancock Fabrics and found something lovely:

Rabbit fur!!! (rabbit not included) Everything in the remnant section is 75% off, so this 1/4 yard of fur turned out to be $1.25. I think I can handle that.

As soon as I saw it, I had a great plan for it involving my Christmas tree. But I still needed some more fabric before I could begin my project.

Enter Hobby Lobby. With my 40% off coupon in hand, I bought a beautiful piece of dark red velvet. Gorgeous.

Let the Christmas tree skirt project begin!!!

First of all, I started scouring the internet for tutorials. Boo. Couldn’t find any…until I happened upon this little beauty from Centsational Girl. She used fur on her skirt too – brillz. 😉

I followed her directions and folded my red velvet into quarters:

After I took my daughter off of it 😉 I trimmed the edges and “dulled” the corners a bit:

I cut the corner off to fit my tree stand:

And cut a slit down the middle so I could wrap it around the stand:

Then I hemmed all the edges:

Here comes the furry part!! I followed Kate’s directions, cut my fur into strips, hemmed the short edges (actually I goofed on this part…note to self: skipping directions doesn’t always = saving time), and sewed the fur to my velvet.

Here’s the state of my carpet after cutting the fur into strips:

Oh yes. And here’s the state of my pants.

(If you follow me on facebook, you probably already saw those pics. But I just couldn’t resist showing them again. It looks like a rabbit killing went on in my house. Kind of.)

Sidenote: Did you know that packing tape works amazingly well at getting fur off of pants? Keep this in mind. It will come in handy if you’re wearing black at a party this season and holding a rabbit. Simply grab the nearest roll of packing tape (or better yet, keep a roll in your purse) and start ridding yourself of every piece of fur. Then return the rabbit to its’ cage (or pass it on to someone else who’s wearing black) and return to the party. You’ll thank me for this later.

It was definitely worth the furry-ness on my pants and carpet, though. Here’s the skirt around our tree:

And a closer look:

It makes me happy. 🙂 oh, and I hope you like the 2 presents we currently have under our tree… 😉

If you want to make your own fur-lined Christmas tree skirt, definitely check out Kate’s tutorial!

And if you need any scotch tape afterwards, come ask me. I’ve got plenty. 😉

S-CUBE’s Take On the Furry Project

Forget our furry friends? Never! That’s the premise behind the pet treats and gifts project for “Don’t 4 Get About Me”.

The challenge? Create a freestanding and countertop displayer to feature 3 sku’s of pet treats and supplies including USA made, All Natural 3 ounce Peanut Butter and Banana Crunch Bones, 4 ounce bags of Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Soft Bites and 15 count Waste Bag Rolls. In addition, the Client also specified that the displays be packed in one box per unit. Each display was designed accordingly and a planogram was created to facilitate set-up.

S-CUBE manufactured the units overseas to minimize cost. Both displays are constructed of metal with steel plates in the feet for stability and include hooks & wire baskets. The logo is screen-printed onto the display header. In addition, S-CUBE created a digitally printed outdoor sign for retailers that offer a pet walking area.

The initial rollout of 350 floor units and 150 countertop units shipped to a variety of retailers and industries including 140 Jewel-Osco Stores, all of the KOA (Kampgrounds of America) sites, 25 convenience stores, and others. This is an on-going program as S-CUBE continues to manage the inventory of not only the displayers but the treats as well.

Need some help with your custom store fixtures but don’t know where to start? S-CUBE Fixtures is just only a phone call away! Our goal is to deliver high-quality, cost-effective retail fixture solutions. Let’s work together to create outstanding fixtures and displays that will take your brand to the next level, contact us to get started today!

Welcome to WikiProject Furry! This group is dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of the furry fandom.

To expand content related to the furry fandom, and improve existing articles to good or featured article status, ultimately making furry fandom a featured topic.
All topics relevant to furry fandom, including animation, artwork, comics, conventions, games, films, lifestyles, people, stories, and television and radio programs.

  • Don't add articles without sources. Lack of good sources is the number one cause of deletionism in Wikipedians.
  • Users shouldn't need intimate knowledge of furry fandom to be able to verify an article. Learn how to use references. See Furry convention and Samuel Conway for examples.
  • There is no such thing as a "good" or "bad" fact - it's either verifiable or it's not. If you think it may be misleading, explain the context, but let readers come to their own conclusions.
  • Be careful copying from WikiFur. Some information may be inappropriate for Wikipedia. Further sources will probably be required. If you do copy, use an appropriate attribution template.
  • Link to WikiFur only if it goes beyond Wikipedia's maximum depth of coverage. Use "Article name at WikiFur" or "WikiFur:Article name", not just "Article name". Add to External links.
  • Avoid adding the project banner to an article's talk page unless the article shows a clear relation to this project's topic. If it's not clear, add relevant information to the article first.

Please feel free to list your new Furry-related articles here (newer articles at the top, please). Any new articles that have an interesting or unusual fact in them should be suggested for the Did you know? box on the Main Page.

Requested articles[edit]

  • Lists of reputable furry forums and non-yiff sites, primarily for the use of those new to the fandom
Things to bear in mind is that Wikipedia is not a web directory, and there is a lack of reliable sources on the topic. I imagine a list could be written in close to an encyclopedic manner (see list of furry conventions), but defining what "reputable" is concerns me, as does the idea that we would censor it based on a sexual content. What business do we have hiding such sites from anyone? The closest I think we could come to an actual article is something like history of furry fandom, which would discuss the larger sites in a historical context. A pure list is probably best left to others, such as the Recommended Anthropomorphics List. GreenReaper (talk) 22:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[]
This has been partially implemented at furry fandom#Websites and online communities, however it does not contain any specific forums (just community forums) as none of them stood out as notable, nor does it restrict itself to PG sites (as Wikipedia is not censored). GreenReaper (talk) 18:06, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[]
  • Better Days (see WikiFur) - will need good sourcing. Add to disambig on creation.
  • Two Kinds needs to be added...
  • Nazi Furs and Altfurry - This subject is recently brought up again and especially after closing to Rocky Mountain Fur Con and with articles give them more spotlight.
  • Some Furry YouTubers in general like Matthew Wayne Davis or known in the Furry community as 2, The Ranting Gryphon and still infamously Christine Weston Chandler who keep denies she isn't furry psychologically except her Lifestyle is clearly noticed even her post-male life remain mostly unchanged since and some Media attention in recent years won't help either.
