New Potential Dr. Mercy Skin Teased in Latest Lore
In the latest piece of Overwatch lore, “Valkyrie” fans are given a much more in-depth view into Overwatch’s medic, Mercy. However, alongside all 26 pages of lore, there was also something else teased at the very end. A new Mercy skin.
The new skin appears to depict Mercy as a doctor and will likely be a Legendary skin costing 1000 in-game credits. This, as well as more details about the name or possible release of the skin, however, has not yet been confirmed by Overwatch or Blizzard.
Fans can read more about Mercy’s backstory and see the context of the skin through the link to the new story in the tweet below.

How to get the Dr. Ziegler Legendary Mercy skin and more
Overwatch’s winged healer has a brand new event that rewards you with a full set of fancy sprays, an icon, and a casual, Legendary skin. Much like the previous challenge events, you’ll have to play the game and watch others play it on Twitch to unlock everything.
As the short story reveals, Mercy — or Angela Ziegler as she is known outside Overwatch — is ready to differentiate herself from the hero she once was. She wants to change the world quietly, but struggles to find a way out of the shadow of Overwatch’s influence and notoriety. To mirror that, Blizzard released the Dr. Ziegler skin that puts her in a lab coat and parts of her iconic battle suit. Along with it come a series of Twitch-linked sprays by artist Vicki Sigh that depict the doctor both as a hero and as a very tired woman.
To get the first set of rewards you’ll need to win nine games in Quick Play, Competitive, or Arcade. At three wins, you’ll unlock the icon, at six, you’ll grab two sprays from the short story itself, and at the ninth win, you’ll get the skin. If you want the six other sprays, you’ll need to watch six total hours of any Twitch stream under the Overwatch category. You can double check below the stream that drops are enabled to make sure that your watch time is being counted toward the sprays. Note: Make sure to link your Battle.net account to your Twitch account via Settings and Connections.
The entire event lasts until December 2. That probably means that the game’s annual Winter Wonderland event will start sometime soon after. And remember that these challenge skins are only available for a limited time. None of them have became available in any other way, so you’ll want to make sure to grab them before they go!

'Overwatch' Mercy's Recall Challenge: How to Unlock Free Legendary Dr. Ziegler Skin
Overwatch players can unlock the brand new Legendary Dr. Ziegler skin for Mercy by playing games. Introduced in the latest short story by Michael Chu, this skin takes the healing matriarch into the lab, gifting her a stethoscope and white lab coat. If you want to harness the true power of a Mercy main, this skin definitely helps you capture her essence. Prepare to hear jokes about how the doctor is in when you get resurrected by a teammate.
How to Unlock Free Overwatch Legendary Dr. Ziegler Skin
From November 12 to December 2, players have the ability to unlock the brand-new skin. Similar to how fans were able to obtain Bastet Ana, LEGO Bastion, Talon Baptiste and Nano D.Va, you'll have to win games to get the skin. Win three games to get an icon with glasses, win six to earn two sprays and win nine for the skin. Wins only count in the Quick Play, Competitive Play and Arcade modes (sorry Workshop fanatics).
If you want to read the "Valkyrie" short story, you can do so here. It tells the tale of a woman with a drive for others who was compelled to lend her talents to the Overwatch squad. If you've loved the other short stories, then this one is a must-read. It's nice to get a little bit of lore while waiting for the game's upcoming PvE sequel.
There is also a selection of streamers that will grant you exclusive Twitch drops for watching. At two hours of watch time you'll unlock one spray, four hours will net you two and six hours will get you the last three. These sprays show her helping friends and living life, perfect for the Mercy main who wants to create a montage of her exploits while dominating the competition.
Unlike past challenges where you needed to watch a specific streamer at a certain time to get the sprays, for Mercy's Recall you just need to watch a game under the Overwatch category on Twitch. In order for the time to count, you'll need to connect your Battle.net account to your Twitch account which is easy enough to do. Just go to the settings gear in the upper right of the Twitch page and click ":connections." There, you'll see an option to input your Blizzard account name to start earning rewards.

Overwatch debuts Mercy-themed event and legendary Dr. Ziegler skin
Update: Shortly after this story was published, Blizzard announced Mercy's Recall Challenge. This limited-time event will run from November 12 to December 2, giving you the chance to get eight sprays, a player icon, and the legendary Dr. Ziegler skin we knew was teased in that short story. Check out this video summarizing Mercy's Recall Challenge below.
Original Story: A new Overwatch short story has revealed an upcoming Mercy skin . "Valkyrie" is a 20-page story written by Michael Chu that centers around Mercy, aka Dr. Angela Ziegler and her time working in an Egyptian aid camp. Amongst the story's credits are Arnold Tsang, the lead character concept designer at Blizzard, whose name falls under "Dr. Mercy skin and original concepts."
The story features Mercy reflecting on her life before and during her time serving in Overwatch: she lost her parents (also doctors) in an Omnic air raid, her professional reputation was irreparably damaged after the disbanding of Overwatch, and she's still coping with the group of heroes' role in global suffering. Throughout the story are several illustrations of Mercy in hero form, including one of her arguing with Jack Morrison (Soldier 76) and another of her in her traditional Mercy outfit, saving children from fiery perils.
But the most interesting picture is on the penultimate page of "Valkyrie." It's a head-to-toe depiction of Mercy, in her typical hero stance as seen in the Overwatch game menus, clad in a lab coat, her angel wings more slight than usual. Despite her rather traditional medical uniform, she's still got on her iconic (but in this case, questionable), footwear - knee high, kitten-heeled boots. I don't want to say that I'd judge my doctor if they came in wearing a pair of these, but… if the shoe fits.
It's pretty clear that this is a preview of an upcoming Mercy skin - the artwork is more in line with Overwatch in-game designs compared to the story's more stylized images, and we know it was designed by Tsang. So, when will be getting Dr. Mercy in-game? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Also, when will be getting Overwatch 2? Same answer as above, sorry.
