On June 30 the CommandCreator went online. At first the idea was simple: Only the Command Creator, to create a minigame without any knowledge! You could select an event which players are able to trigger and then a command that's executed by the player.
Now, it’s much more advanced: You can enter more than one command that will be executed by the player. Also, the design is much more interesting than before.
There are three different versions of the Command Creator. Now, on January 21 the website has its own, clear, modern and uniform design.
After the Command Creator I released another generator which didn't exist on any other websites: The Crafting Generator, you can create your own crafting recipes with ease. Only drag & drop the items into the crafting field and change some optional metadata of the output item and you are finished.
This was the first version. Very ugly. The website had no uniform design, like now. Also, simple features like enchantments or a Nametag etc. were missing. The generator was very basic, now it’s a high tech product, like products by the NASA! And last but not least I added one of the greatest generators ever: The prefix generator. With this generator you are able to color your commands without any knowledge. You only need a little bit of creativity. I knew the already existing color command generators but there you have to enter you command by hand and place a §6 before the text. With the Prefix/Color Generator of you only need to click on e.g. Wither, enter your text (you can also use special characters) and then color them by checking the text and click on an color. It's so simple!
In the future time, new generators will be published. I'm already working on a big project/generator that doesn't exist yet. It will be a big help for many people of you!
So stay tuned to see the new updates and generators!
Minecraft: Custom Particle Generator [One Single Command]

Add a custom build rule to the generated build system.

There are two main signatures for .

Generating Files¶

The first signature is for adding a custom command to produce an output:

This defines a command to generate specified file(s). A target created in the same directory ( file) that specifies any output of the custom command as a source file is given a rule to generate the file using the command at build time. Do not list the output in more than one independent target that may build in parallel or the two instances of the rule may conflict (instead use the command to drive the command and make the other targets depend on that one). In makefile terms this creates a new target in the following form:

The options are:

Append the and option values to the custom command for the first output specified. There must have already been a previous call to this command with the same output.

If the previous call specified the output via a generator expression, the output specified by the current call must match in at least one configuration after evaluating generator expressions. In this case, the appended commands and dependencies apply to all configurations.

The , , and options are currently ignored when APPEND is given, but may be used in the future.

Specify the files the command is expected to produce but whose modification time may or may not be newer than the dependencies. If a byproduct name is a relative path it will be interpreted relative to the build tree directory corresponding to the current source directory. Each byproduct file will be marked with the source file property automatically.

Explicit specification of byproducts is supported by the generator to tell the build tool how to regenerate byproducts when they are missing. It is also useful when other build rules (e.g. custom commands) depend on the byproducts. Ninja requires a build rule for any generated file on which another rule depends even if there are order-only dependencies to ensure the byproducts will be available before their dependents build.

The Makefile Generators will remove and other files during .

Specify the command-line(s) to execute at build time. If more than one is specified they will be executed in order, but not necessarily composed into a stateful shell or batch script. (To run a full script, use the command or the command to create it, and then specify a to launch it.) The optional argument is for backward compatibility and will be ignored.

If specifies an executable target name (created by the command), it will automatically be replaced by the location of the executable created at build time if either of the following is true:

  • The target is not being cross-compiled (i.e. the variable is not set to true).

  • New in version The target is being cross-compiled and an emulator is provided (i.e. its target property is set). In this case, the contents of will be prepended to the command before the location of the target executable.

If neither of the above conditions are met, it is assumed that the command name is a program to be found on the at build time.

Arguments to may use . Use the generator expression to refer to the location of a target later in the command line (i.e. as a command argument rather than as the command to execute).

Whenever one of the following target based generator expressions are used as a command to execute or is mentioned in a command argument, a target-level dependency will be added automatically so that the mentioned target will be built before any target using this custom command (see policy ).

This target-level dependency does NOT add a file-level dependency that would cause the custom command to re-run whenever the executable is recompiled. List target names with the option to add such file-level dependencies.

Display the given message before the commands are executed at build time.

Specify files on which the command depends. Each argument is converted to a dependency as follows:

  1. If the argument is the name of a target (created by the , , or command) a target-level dependency is created to make sure the target is built before any target using this custom command. Additionally, if the target is an executable or library, a file-level dependency is created to cause the custom command to re-run whenever the target is recompiled.

  2. If the argument is an absolute path, a file-level dependency is created on that path.

  3. If the argument is the name of a source file that has been added to a target or on which a source file property has been set, a file-level dependency is created on that source file.

  4. If the argument is a relative path and it exists in the current source directory, a file-level dependency is created on that file in the current source directory.

  5. Otherwise, a file-level dependency is created on that path relative to the current binary directory.

If any dependency is an of another custom command in the same directory ( file), CMake automatically brings the other custom command into the target in which this command is built.

New in version A target-level dependency is added if any dependency is listed as of a target or any of its build events in the same directory to ensure the byproducts will be available.

If is not specified, the command will run whenever the is missing; if the command does not actually create the , the rule will always run.

Lists in arguments will be expanded, including those created with , allowing arguments such as to be properly expanded.

Request scanning of implicit dependencies of an input file. The language given specifies the programming language whose corresponding dependency scanner should be used. Currently only and language scanners are supported. The language has to be specified for every file in the list. Dependencies discovered from the scanning are added to those of the custom command at build time. Note that the option is currently supported only for Makefile generators and will be ignored by other generators.

This option cannot be specified at the same time as option.

Specify a for the generator. Incompatible with , which implies the pool. Using a pool that is not defined by causes an error by ninja at build time.

Specify the primary input source file to the command. This is treated just like any value given to the option but also suggests to Visual Studio generators where to hang the custom command. Each source file may have at most one command specifying it as its main dependency. A compile command (i.e. for a library or an executable) counts as an implicit main dependency which gets silently overwritten by a custom command specification.

Specify the output files the command is expected to produce. If an output name is a relative path it will be interpreted relative to the build tree directory corresponding to the current source directory. Each output file will be marked with the source file property automatically. If the output of the custom command is not actually created as a file on disk it should be marked with the source file property.

The command will be given direct access to the terminal if possible. With the generator, this places the command in the .

All arguments to the commands will be escaped properly for the build tool so that the invoked command receives each argument unchanged. Note that one level of escapes is still used by the CMake language processor before add_custom_command even sees the arguments. Use of is recommended as it enables correct behavior. When is not given the behavior is platform specific because there is no protection of tool-specific special characters.

Execute the command with the given current working directory. If it is a relative path it will be interpreted relative to the build tree directory corresponding to the current source directory.

Specify a depfile which holds dependencies for the custom command. It is usually emitted by the custom command itself. This keyword may only be used if the generator supports it, as detailed below.

New in version The generator supports since the keyword was first added.

New in version Added the generator, which included support for the keyword.

Using with generators other than those listed above is an error.

If the argument is relative, it should be relative to , and any relative paths inside the should also be relative to . See policy , which is always for Makefile Generators, Visual Studio Generators, and the generator.

Examples: Generating Files¶

Custom commands may be used to generate source files. For example, the code:

adds a custom command to run to generate and then compile the generated source as part of a library. The generation rule will re-run whenever changes.

New in version One may use generator expressions to specify per-configuration outputs. For example, the code:

adds a custom command to run to generate , where is the build configuration, and then compile the generated source as part of a library.

Build Events¶

The second signature adds a custom command to a target such as a library or executable. This is useful for performing an operation before or after building the target. The command becomes part of the target and will only execute when the target itself is built. If the target is already built, the command will not execute.

This defines a new command that will be associated with building the specified . The must be defined in the current directory; targets defined in other directories may not be specified.

When the command will happen is determined by which of the following is specified:

On Visual Studio Generators, run before any other rules are executed within the target. On other generators, run just before commands.

Run after sources have been compiled but before linking the binary or running the librarian or archiver tool of a static library. This is not defined for targets created by the command.

Run after all other rules within the target have been executed.

Because generator expressions can be used in custom commands, it is possible to define lines or whole custom commands which evaluate to empty strings for certain configurations. For Visual Studio (and newer) generators these command lines or custom commands will be omitted for the specific configuration and no "empty-string-command" will be added.

This allows to add individual build events for every configuration.

New in version Support for target-dependent generator expressions.

Examples: Build Events¶

A event may be used to post-process a binary after linking. For example, the code:

will run to produce a file next to the executable after linking.

New in version One may use generator expressions to specify per-configuration byproducts. For example, the code:

will run after linking , e.g. to produce a file containing code to check the hash of that the executable can use to verify it before loading.

Ninja Multi-Config¶

New in version supports the generator's cross-config capabilities. See the generator documentation for more information.

Minecraft Give Command Generator

A powerful and simple to use minecraft give command maker, with enchantments, color name text, lore and advanced attributes.

The give command is one of the most complicated and powerful commands in Minecraft. This tool is a simple Minecraft give command generator for generating complex commands. Paste this command into chat or a command block and you can generate the item, but remember you will need to be op (admin).

Commands are for vanilla (java or bedrock) edition, but can also work for modded Minecraft. So far it includes, item name and lore, item enchantments and the more advance item attributes which can add buffs or debuffs for users that hold or wear an item.

Enchantments: Most enchantments will only work on certain tools, weapons or armour. Be sure to choose the correct enchantments. You can minecraft give sword with enchantments or minecraft give armor generator, choose those items from the minecraft give item list and choose enchantments from the advanced options. There is a huge number of minecraft give enchanted items combinations.

Color Text: Minecraft Java added colored text for items, this was a limited 16 color pallet. In this was added to lore. As of any text color possible.

Attributes: These can be applied to any item, when a user holds or wears that item they will receive a buff or debuff. For example, a buff can add or multiply damage that a player does when attacking, where as a debuff could reduce their speed. Try to make a sword that can one hit kill a wither.

Can place/destroy: Can place and can destroy are rules used in adventure mode, these allow blocks to only be placed/destroy on the listed blocks or block groups. In this generator you can enter free form text, which gives you a lot of options with nbt tags.

Long Commands: The give command can get quite long and break when entered into chat. The is because chat has a limitation of characters (or characters before ). For commands longer than the limit, use a command block and paste the give command into the command block, place a button on the side and your command should run when pressed.

Versioning: The give command has changed a lot over various versions, most notability the removal of block ids and minor changes to the json encoded dataTag. See notes below, but perhaps one day we can make it work for all versions.

Custom generators

Edit Page

Custom generators are a type of plugin for the Sails command line. Through templates, they control which files get generated in your Sails projects when you run or , and also what those files look like.

Creating a generator

To make this easier to play with, let's first make a Sails project. If you haven't already created one, go to your terminal and type:

Then into and ask Sails to spit out the template for a new generator:

Configuring a generator

To enable the generator you need to tell Sails about it via your test project's file.

If we were using an existing generator, we could just install it from NPM, then specify the name of the package in . But since we're developing this generator locally, we'll just connect it to the folder directly:

Note: For now, we'll stick with "awesome", but you can mount the generator under any name you want. Whatever you choose for the name of the key in the file will be the name you'll use to run this generator from the terminal (e.g. ).

Running a custom generator

To run your generator, just tack its name on to , followed by any desired arguments or command-line options. For example:

Publishing to NPM

If your generator is useful across different projects, you might consider publishing it as an NPM package (note that this doesn't mean that your generator must be open-source: NPM also supports private packages.

First, pop open the file and verify the package name (e.g. "@my-npm-name/sails-generate-awesome"), author ("My Name"), license, and other information are correct. If you're unsure, a good open source license to use is "MIT". If you're publishing a private generator and want it to remain proprietary to your organization, use "UNLICENSED".

Note: If you don't already have an NPM account, go to and create one. Then use to get set up.

When you're ready to pull the trigger and publish your generator on NPM, cd into the generator's folder in the terminal and type:

Installing a generator

To take your newly-published generator for a spin, cd back into your example Sails project (), delete the inline generator, and run:

then change the in your example Sails project ():

And, last but not least:

Is something missing?

If you notice something we've missed or could be improved on, please follow this link and submit a pull request to the sails repo. Once we merge it, the changes will be reflected on the website the next time it is deployed.
